Al parecer, las víctimas, Kirstie Trup y Katie Gee, habían rechazado a varios individuos locales (o sea, musulmanes) y eran miembros de «El Club de la Abstinencia», formado por 100 jóvenes londinenses como la «única forma segura de contracepción».
Además, el imán Jeque Issa Ponda Issa, instigador del ataque, ha resultado herido por disparos durante su detención por la policía, porque intentó huir.
